| Cut Flowers |
| General: |
Always unwrap your flowers carefully to avoid causing damage. |

Add flower food provided to fresh water to a clean vase. |
| |
Cut approx 2cm off the stem with a sharp knife or secateurs and remove any leaves that are below the water. |
| |
Position your flowers in a light and cool area away from direct heat, draughts or sunlight and away from fresh fruit. |
| |
Check on water level daily especially in hot weather. |
| |
Change water every 4-5 days re-cutting when placing in to fresh water. |
| |
Remove faded flowers. |

If in a water bag, release water over a sink by cutting the bag. |

Do not untie your flowers. |
| |
Re cut stems and place in a clean vase of fresh water with flower food. |

| Specialist care |

| Roses |
Always make sure vase is clean and water is fresh. |
| |
Use specialist rose flower food if available. |
| |
Re cut stems with a sharp knife preferably or sharp secateurs and place immediately into water. |
| |
(Avoid using scissors where possible as they crush the stem which prevents water being easily absorbed. |
| |
If ‘necking’ occurs, (usually a sign of airlock in stem) re cut and place stem in 2cm of boiling water for a few minutes and re cut a place in cold water. |
